The Solaris story
I set up Solaris Bakehouse after retiring from my previous day job, feeling that life was too short to continue the 9-5 grind. I decided that I would much rather be baking bread!

And now enthusiastic baker with a mission to share the taste of real bread with the local community!
I’ve taken baking from a passion to a profession
I started experimenting with baking bread when my children were young, enjoying teaching them how to knead and shape dough, and sharing the delicious loaves as a family. Later I took numerous bread courses, developing my techniques and giving me a new appreciation for genuine bread.
To accommodate this venture I decided to demolish the rickety old garage in our garden and replace it with a brand new microbakery, where the ancient art of real bread making can bloom.

I’ll bet you weren’t expecting feedback this quickly, but I just sliced up your freshly delivered sourdough loaf to have for my lunch with some cheese and coleslaw, and it was absolutely delicious. How lovely to have you on the doorstep. Looking forward to ordering many more loaves in the future.
